SproutSpoken founder and director, Dicky Souray, has hosted nearly every single event since the first one back in 2017 (however, mention must be made of the trusted others who have tillered the ship on occasion over the years!)

At open-mic events, he acts as a friendly host to support the participants - holding the audience and ensuring everyone leaves feeling good. His trademark facilitative tone-setting often involves modelling a ‘have-a-go’ approach, along with a good dose of audience interaction and a touch of the madcap. He also can’t resist a dad-joke and song, or comedy prop and costume if given a chance!

For full-feature bill events, he knows how to step up into more of a hypeman/compere role and ensures guest artists are welcomed and the audience knows they’re in safe hands for a night of entertainment at the slicker end of the spectrum.

Whichever style of event, Dicky’s hope is to create a magical experience of all involved - both on and off the stage.
